Description

As a symbol of the Mediterranean, olive oil has always been much more than an ordinary food ingredient. Olive oil production on the Adriatic coast has a long manufacturing tradition which is run by autonomous olive growers. In parts of Croatia and Montenegro influenced by a Mediterranean climate, the olive tree has been a feature on the coastal landscape since time immemorial. The quality of the soil and the climatic variations determine the varieties of the olives and consequently the quality and diversity of the olive oils produced.
