Get your fix of nostalgia for the sixties and seventies at RetrOpatija. A unique event that brings Opatija back to a carefree, laidback era, it includes film screenings, retro music and concerts, professional dancers in retro outfits, food and beverage tastes of the past and a classic car line-up.
My favourite part, that you just can’t miss is the all-night ‘Disco Ball’. The main event, The Biggest Disco Party, at Opatija’s open-air theatre.
RetrOpatija is a musical time machine in which swing, rockabilly, rock, jazz and electric disco music merge together to create a fantastic party dedicated to the key decades and musical styles of the twentieth century. This retro festival brings together excellent Croatian and foreign musicians, pin-up models, dancers, jugglers, street musicians, makeup artists and hair stylists, and presents vintage cars and motorcycles, such as Vespas, Tomos and Fiats. Dance at the hot ‘party of the century’ beneath a large disco ball together with thousands of other visitors.
RetrOpatija is a special event that happens every summer in Opatija. It is a unique event that for one day tries to return Opatija in some relaxed and quiet times. The city then abounds with film-makers, retro music and the offerings of specific historical food and drinks.
A walk through the city – from Volosko to Slatina – is a walk through history as the eclectic style of the twentieth decoration and offerings is adapted by Opatija’s cafe’s and restaurants.
